built a fire on main street and shot it full of holes

this is what promiscuous pulls up on google

let's get serious. i'm leaving those huge files up for the weekend.

Sean Price - Jamaican
Ppppppppppppp! this guy put out a top ten record of last year and is coming back again with the hilariously titled Jesus Price. this sample is fucking PLAYED out but sean is such a character ('what the fuck is that? reggaeton?'), he's the most charismatic thug rapper out there and he's so broke, HE'S STILL SELLING CRACK. talk about cred. the most unfortunate cred of all. but yeah, that KRS shit is funny too ('BROOKLYN KEEPS ON TAKING IT YEAH BROOKLYN KEEPS ON TAKING IT'), i can't say enough about this guy.

Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous Girl
this is 'meet me in the ladies room' 2006. nelly furtado (???) randomly channels klymaxx, skyy and other shit like that to make the best prince song in years. timbo is back on fire with this one. he seems to like to work with this girl. i'm really impressed by the result. this has huge crossover potential in a post-pharrell/gwen landscape. nelly is more believable, but she used to be a b-girl, right? 'you're game MVP like steve nash' is one of those cheesy lines that people will run into the ground if a song is really popular, even if only in a group of friends. tim is using these tiny snares these days, he's all about space and human voices, when he gets the guys to doo wop behind him, you dig? i hope this song is successful.

Lady Sovereign - Public Warning
okay enough is enough. i'm a big basement jaxx guy so the beat is forward and really sharp and pop and all that, but would someone get this bitch to rap about something? there's been something like 20 studio songs and she's talking about 'if i think that you are a hater', i remember first hearing that that feline mix from 2004, step your game up, woman. plus the chopping is for like two bars, that isn't impressive. all the tongue twisters and shit, it's like nonsense. who is cosigning this? do you think this is gonna go over in the states?

Busta Rhymes - Followers (ft. Pharrell)
someone get me an acapella, i need to remix this. this beat is awful, i'm usually into the snap music intimate club shit but not for this kind of song. busta gets animalistic on this one, he keeps referencing rulers and dictators on this track, which is likely accidently conceptual but it works. 'so many holes up in your face it's like i slapped you with a glove full of needles' YEAH! that synth is brutal, i hate presets and i won't accept them in my club set. i might have to just do an edit or something. LOL he says BENELOVENT like rza on 'impossible'! ahahhahahaha

Hey Rollie -- glad to see you're still around. I had the old site bookmarked and didn't find the new address until today. I thought you'd gone off on tour and abandoned the website!!

Anyway, GODDAMN man, great posts. That top 100 shit was the hottest post of any blog I've read this year.

Yeah, what's with hating on Sovereign when only a little while back you posted pictures of you and her? Only down when there's something in it for you?

Sean Price isn't even the nicest dude in his crew let alone most charismatic thug rapper.

nice to see that furtado+timbo collabo here. pharrell's hook on "followers" sounds really cut+paste.

lol, these guys questioning integrity get the head shake. you have to like everything she does automatically because you've worked with her in the past, clearly.

My God, "Promiscuous Girl" is pretty incredible. I even like Tim's vocals for the first time since, like, "Lobster & Shrimp".
